advice

ive just changed the thermosat on my freelander front 1 by rad as it was fu///d just need advice should i have changed the 1 at the back of engine as well cause the front 1 had lots of ****e in it 18 petrol

any particular ****e - or general ****e?

gunk as head gasket went years ago and the thermostat was full of ****e changed that running fine just wonderd should i change back 1 as the front 1 was fuc///d thanks

shudnt have on at the back, if you have a remote thermostat. Needs a bloody good flush through tho

when are yu seeing it glow - at night? in daylight?

they do tend to run a bit warm - the exhaust. but it depends - it could be timing out - could just be late at night.....

Daveste can you keep all the queries re coolant and coolant system in the one thread, rather than fragments of threads, it just makes it easier for the rest of us to keep track and give advice on the complete info presented

There should be a blanking plate (stat ring with large hole in it) in the old stat housing.
They all glow if you rev at stand still, wouldn't be an issue if car is moving and getting airflow, its the reason I modded the undertray to allow an airflow over the downpipe.
