Just another quick one...the injector in 4 is fully stuck and carboned up, probably a result of the blown gasket I'm sure. A spanner won't touch it at all. I haven't got a slide hammer atm so is there another way of removing it without doing any damage? The reason I want it out is to have them all tested as the head is off. Thanks again....jem

Job done and all running smoothly again. Just one last question...The head gasket is a new multi layered metal type and is certainly different to the knackered one that came off. Is it necessary to retorque the head bolts after a run in period?

Dont think retorque is required
How did you get on with removing the stuck injector? I wonder why its always number 4 that gets stuck?

they are stretch bolts youd have to slacken off fully after draining the system and block , as long as you did them correct they are fine as is , injector been stuck is usually fault with injector sealing washer which can knacker nozzle

Thanks both. The injector was knackered. New nozzle and calibrated, 100 quid so all in all the whole job cost me £150...very pleased.
