Hi All...bought front and rear OME springs and am a bit confused over the installation of the "A" and "B" springs in each pair. OME website says:

"Old Man Emu springs are normally "handed". That is, there is one driver-side spring and one passenger-side spring per pair. This usually results in a listing vehicle toward the passenger side on most Land Rovers. To prevent this, we "match" our springs into two DS or two PS springs per pair"

Anyone got a clear understanding of this statement?

Also....I noticed that when you order OME springs, there is also a "DS" version for any given pair...so are they trying to say when ordering for a landrover you should order a DS "Matched" pair instead of just the standard pair?

Also....found this comment on another OME website:

A/B Fitment
As a general rule, the A springs have a higher free height than the B coils. This is to allow the fitter to compensate for driver weight, aftermarket accessories, vehicle weight distribution, and chassis twist. We suggest taking measurements at each corner before fitting the new suspension components. This will allow for more accurate A/B fitment.
In vehicles with front and rear A/B springs, most of these vehicles will be happiest with an A coil fitted to the front, driver corner and the opposite rear, passenger corner. In vehicles with only rear A/B springs, most will end up with the A spring on the rear, driver corner.
It must be understood that due to the A/B variation, the first spring selection may result in the vehicle to be unlevel. If this is the case, swapping spring locations is necessary before trying other trimming methods.

If anyone's nailed down which way to go on a disco 2 (either buy a "matched" pair or buy the standard pair and do the crossover A/B thing) please let me know.

Hi Mendez don't know if i can help to much as i fitted terrafirma springs. With mine there was a front set and a back set. Then there was a drivers side and a passenger side. So pretty simple one spring for each corner !!! Do OME not have different springs for front and back? You can see mine if you click on my name then look at profile. What tyres you going for when you lifted her? love to see a picture. Good Luck!

Hi Matt...yes the OME then must be the same idea...i.e. a front and back set with a drivers and passengers at slightly different height. Its the comment from the OME website that's confusion in that it seems to suggest that this will result in a slightly lob-sided result when fitted to a landrover? Did you off-set your springs on either corner or did you just fit both drivers side on both front and back? Mt disco is 2003 in silver same colour as yours so your one looks super with the lift...I'm looking for the same result. Whats the ride like with the new set up? (Springs and tyres)

Hi Mendez the comment on the OME website is confusing! I put the drivers side ones on drivers side front and rear. Seems to sit perfectly level to me. The ride is perfect no issues at all. You do get more road noise from tyres but they are very aggressive tread and i expected this.Only issue i do have is some tyre rub on full articulation at front as discussed on other thread. I also had to cut bumper as you can see in pictures but this is very easy to do with angle grinder and in my opinion it looks better this way.

I just re read the extracts from OME you posted and can't understand it at all. Seems to suggest putting the drivers side springs on opposing corners. This is different than the terrafirma springs i fitted. I don't want to advise you wrong so would suggest checking with suppliers you buy them from before fitting, would be annoying to have to swap them all around....
