Advice on bulkhead repair please.

So the drivers side top hinge has started to get pushed out by the rust on the bulkhead behind it, it looks quite localised to just that area but I'm not going to kid myself that it's just that bit I can see.
It it a massive job to repair the top corner of the bulkhead? I'm thinking dash out, remove the bonnet & wing to get good access. Issue I have is that I would have to do it on the drive, is it feasible as the weather is starting to get cold and unpredictable? Or do I just bite the bullet and get a garage to do the work???

Its more of a question of what else on the bulkhead is rotten, from your post it sounds quite advanced

I haven't gone over it with a fine tooth comb yet but inside the engine bay looks solid, a bit of flaking on the underside of the footwell but doesn't look too bad from what I've seen. Only other place I've noticed rust is behind the dash where you put the bolts through for the windscreen block on the drivers side so I'm thinking this bit is a part of the problem with the top hinge. I know I won't know how bad it is till I get into it properly but if it's bad it's not a job I can do on the drive.

Without seeing exactly what you've got, you might need to use a top corner repair panel and an A post section.

You'll need to separate the windscreen to do the job, but not the inner wing.

Other failure point is the crease being the heater, and the peddle boxes.

Il get some pictures up of it later when I have a better poke around with a screw driver to see the extent of what I need to repair. Think my main issue is time more than anything else might have to book a few days off work. I've got the corner repair panel but nothing for the A frame, hoping the rust isn't that extensive to be honest. Thanks brown ive had a read through that post and I think I'm more than capable of doing it now.

Is separating the windscreen a big job??

Windscreen removal will be a lot easier with two people. Drop headlining, remove roof to pillar bolts, enabling the roof to be lifted slightly. The top of the windscreen frame may be stuck quite firmly to the roof, you'll need to run a sharp knife along the length. The bottom of the windscreen frame has holes ( 2, I think ) at either end which locate onto metal pegs on the top of the bulkhead. It's easier if someone is inside the Landy to push the screen out with their feet!

I wouldn't use your feet on the windscreen, undo the seatbelt upper bolts that hold the roof down to the side panels after the doors, this allows the roof to flex up a little more and makes it easier to pull the windscreen towards the bonnet at the top, then as previous posts state, lift off the two locating pegs on the bulkhead
