Advice needed

Looking into buying a land rover, unfortunately I'm not very old (20) and don't have the benefit of low insurance quotes or a huge amount of money.

Its would be bought as a toy to have some fun with mates in and I'm expecting anything I buy will require some work on it, does anyone have any recommendations on a type of landy that would be good on insurance and could be acquired at reasonable price?

Cheapish your probably looking at a disco or a series 3. I've recently bought a series 3 for sub £1500 and my mate bought a disco 1 same price.
As a toy I prefer the series parts are dirt cheap it's easy to work on and it's defo fun! Wouldn't fancy doing big miles in it though but as a toy it's great! Surprisingly good off road too. The disco is much nicer on road also cheap parts but finding 1 that isn't rotten might be tough. I'd guess insurance cheaper on an s3 would be cheaper too

You can find disco 1s at around £700 needing some work

£700 should get you a disco with mot which will give you some time to get handy with a welder.
