Advice needed on alarm

Dear all
The alarm on my 1994 RRC softdash goes off when it feels like it, it seems to have a mind of its own, it has only recently started to do this and i was wondering if it has anything to do with the damp conditions.
Anyone else experienced this or knows how to cure it.

Alarm is getting really annoying now, can it be disconnected easily?, had to get up twice last night to shut it up

Lock with the key, this will isolate the interior ultrasonic movement sensor, which are known to go over sensitive (faulty), to see if your issue goes away, unlock with the remote otherwise using the key will activate the alarm.

Try that first, hopefully your is will disappear, if so you can just unplug the sensor and leave it that way until you feel like a replacement.
If the false alarm doesn't disappear then the usual suspect is the bonnet switch contact, again unplugging it to check but only after finding the result of the first option.
