This morning the wife was involved in a minor RTA . Basically a Fiat Marea estate T boned her in the N/S . The wifes ok , bad head and shoulder pains but walking wounded ........

The Disco 300Tdi (S Reg 1998) however is'nt looking its best . Damage that I can see is

FNS Wing + end cap
Front NS wheel and tyre
FNS Door
NS plastic sill trim (full length)
FNS Door step
FNS rear passenger door
NSR wheel + tyre
NS Sidestep buckled

Both doors are U/S defo , the colour is Met Green too ......

So I'm no Loss Adjuster but I can see the cost of parts + labour are gonna far out weigh the value of the Disco ......

So do I buy the Old Girl back (I have salavage rights) ? If I do , who sell's body panels other than LR ?

Or do I let them take the Old Girl away !!

I did alot of looking for a good 300Tdi and finally found one thats right in all the wrong place's ..... Only thing wrong is OSR pass door lock wont open from outside and sunroof has a small leak if it rains heavy . Other than that she's in really good condition . Passed MOT no probs every year , well serviced and maintained by me .

I reckon she's worth about 2k - 2.5K ........

Good to see you're worried about your wife.

Yeah as stated in the Post , she's ok , not my words but the Professional Opinion of a Doctor who was in A+E this morning . Where we spent 3 hours waiting to see said Doctor ...... Now the WIFE's ok , I'm sorting the Disco ......... so if you cant offer some constructive advice ....... go **** ya self and go away in small sharp jerky movements , you tosser :multiply:

Well that would depend on if she's a good cook, and is her dusting up to standard :D:D:D:D

Joking aside hope your wife is ok tho.

Let a garage have a look and see if its worth repairing, well at least let them decide what wrong with it with the amount of damage you describe, it more then just minor

She's not bad at making tea either :D

No , she's up and running mate ;)

Just been outside having a look underneath , dont seem to have suffered anything structural ....... at the mo seem's everything is all bolt on ..... with paint etc ... gonna have a look for 2nd panels on the bay .... try and work out a cost for me to fix :(

As big stu said let the garrage have a look then when they give there details report
You will de able to find what you need.

As for what you need new panels ether LR or patern parts are no cheep. Best to look at brakers yards for the bits you need, there are a lot of the disco 1s in them so it's just a mater of shopping around.

Hope the wife is good.

you will find one on ebay for what that lot will cost you in a scrap yard, just strip the parts you need, and weigh in the rest or keep it for future spares

:)

That amount of damage doesn't sound insurmountable, however, the insurance company are almost certain to write off the vehicle I would imagine - problem with buying it back and repairing it is that this marker/notification will stay with the disco for the rest of its life and render it next to worthless in terms of resale value.

Just something to think about.

Cheers guy's , you basically confirmed what i was thinking . If they let me buy it back cheap , I'll have a go repairing it . If they want too much (taking in account its a cat c/d for resale ) then I'll just let it go .........

Shame as it is/was a cracking Disco 300tdi .

I have an Epson green automatic, being stripped down all panels wings in good nick no damage, the only missing bit is the head light boxes, where are you in relation to MANCHESTER.

Light cream speckled I think, not to bad, does`nt seem to be any tears, it had been stood out side college where I work for 5 years, then my boss bought it for spares and put it in my garage, 5 door twin sun roof(one leaking) all dried out needs a clean, he has the same with no central locking, one reason he bought it.

Buy it back mate its worth more to you . Should get it back for about £500 then see if you can find one the same colour to get the parts off plenty of 4x4 breakers that will post parts if its to far from you or if you cant be bothered to fix it break it yourself you will make more than it cost you
