Hi all
After an eventful engine swap the disco now runs, though a bit sluggish. I'm getting really conflicting info about having to re-code the different injectors to the ecu. Do I need a nanocom code reader to do this as I'm a tad confused? Some people are saying that it's not necessary to re-code but if it is does anyone know anywhere in the Cambs, Herts borders that can help please? Thanks in advance.

The codes "tweak" the injectors and balance them out a bit, it's desirable to do it if you have changes the injectors for different ones because that's how they were designed, but you shouldn't notice a huge difference if not done.
It's easy to do them with a nanocom and only takes a few minutes, I am sure some kind soul will help you with it possibly just for travel expenses.

Thank you, appreciate your answer, hows best to find someone please? I'm a bit new to the forum and not sure where I should post that. Thanks again.

But do you have, the code numbers ? If you dont you will have to expose the injectors to get them, then yes Nanocom and a few other decent machines can do this, Snap On being a popular one that most garages have ;)

Yes they will run without coding, but coding is doing the job properly, anything else is not ;)

So surely there is a local Garage near you that can enter them for you, Snap On, Autel, Bosch KTS and a few others are all professional "generic" (all marques) machines that garage Owners have and all of them can do Injector Coding, almost all Electronic Controlled Diesels since 2000 need that function. It won't take a decent Tech 15 minutes to do it ;)

Don't specifically need someone with Nanocom ;)

Ok, thank you, I'll have a look was told it needed to be specific.
Appreciate your help.

Nope, Nanocom doesn't have the sole rights :D In fact the only thing my Snap On can't do that Nanocom can is Keys and Immobiliser Programming, but if I ever need a spare key there is a guy in Inverness with a proper Land RoverTest Book ;)

I have Snap On and Autel in my Garage business, (along with a lot of Dealer Level Kit), but yes Snap On and Autel can both do it ;) I'm almost certain that as they can so can Bosch KTS and also Autologic ;)
