Adjustable screwy tow bar

I've got this adjustable tow bar on mi 90 it's got this adjustable corkscrew type Bolt through the middle of the plate to raise and lower the ball and I just wanna know who made this type of towing plate and why its so hard to find anything about this type of towing plate... Just wondering if any of you people could shed some light on it for me

Not seen anything like that as far as I know. Any chance you could post a pic?
How old is the vehicle and how long has the towbar been fitted?

I wish I knew how to post a picture give us a min with that um 1987 90 um tow bar could of been on from the start I don't know had many of coats of satin black hammerite

That is the best picture of the rear lower of the 90 excuse the mutt

I think that is pretty unusual, even Rawlys ebay link says so.
Most 90s of this age just have a Dixon Bate hitch, which has a sliding plate with three holes that you put a pin through. Sometimes its not easy to get the towball height right, so I think that would be quite useful if you are towing a number of trailers.

O I think it's great just seems strange on the lack of information about them and why they don't seem to make them now.

I know Warrior has one, mebbe pm him, hes had it on/off a couple of times so might know if theres any makers details on the back

Sooooooo update on the screwy tow bar seems PaulMc is on the right ground with Peter j lea & co,
Checked other forums seems it's quite a popular question to ask to a un popular tow plate however I think it's different from the Dixon and that's why I like it.

I have one sat in my shed at present if you want to make an offer of your bit to far from Leeds, I removed it to fit a receiver hitch.

that design of tow hitch seems a good one.wonder why they don't catch on though???

my thought (after seeing warriors filled with mud) is they need too much maintenance to keep working, I think the screw would seize fairly easily.
the good ol dixon bate just needs a wallop with a hammer if it sticks.
