Adding two-stroke to diesel

Never tried it but don't see at 200:1 it can do any harm. Haven't come across any problems with worn out injection systems either. Bear in mind that the most likely item to wear is the injection pump which you haven't got. The injectors should be OK. After all, petrol engine injectors manage and petrol is quite a powerful degreaser.
I always thought sulphur was a high pressure lubricant anyway which is why they tend to put it in hypoid type gear systems.

I have and it does run smoother. Not checked scientifically, but it definitely feels smoother to me.

Mind, I also run it on old engine oil, gear oil, whatever oil I can find, including veg and bio, whichever saves me money at the diesel pump.

Assume it's running smoother because of the raised Cetane rating - a bit like putting BP Ultimate in. Come to think of it the cost is probably about the same...

It would be if I bought it. I used to race motorbikes so had numerous bottles of 2 stroke 'in the garage' ... ;) Not much left now but ...

I've got about 4 galls of Castrol 'R' in the shed. Seein as nobody wants it any more I might stick it in the tank and see how it goes. Bound ta smell nice anyhow.:D

Do you filter your used engine oil prior to using it?

Oh yes ... ;)

I get circular nylon filters (centres from floor buffing pads) that we used to throw away, which come in a range of coarseness. Add a charcoal filter or two and it seems to work fine .. At least, the oil that comes out looks like new and doesn't feel grainy. I only ever used it at 35% ish with regular diesel, but as it was free it was saving up to 25-30 quid a fill.

Not done any for a while now, I had a batch of about 300 gallons which kept us going a while. Keep meaning to start it up again ... ;)
