AdBlue restart

That's pretty outrageous for a car to be so "Eco Friendly" that it will strand you rather than let you go to a garage isn't it?
In the OP's case he admits a warning came up saying 1,000 Miles to go before AdBlue is all gone. I would have taken immediate action.

I would have done the same. Adblue is available from most petrol stations. All yer need to do is make sure it has the right spec quoted on it. It should.

I don't fully know the rules... But if a car dun't have adblue when it should (none left through using it up) then it's not allowed to start. Same would happen if leaked out. It's emissions will be wrong if adblue isn't there to be used hence the non start. I guess it's done like that to make peeps put adblue in to reduce the emissions.

On the Eur04/5 trucks, exhaust system issues are flagged up on the dash and then you have 40 hours running time before the engine derates.
Not sure on the Euro6 models as they are way more complicated.
