I have the earlier 2-lug fuel neck filler on my 1985 90 which means I can’t fit a nice billet one from Optimill as they have the later threaded type.

Does anyone know if there is some clever mod’ you can do to allow the two to be used together or, failing that, any other similar ‘nice’ fuel caps out there to suit the early 2-lug design? The only option at the moment looks to be a pig-ugly large lump of plastic if I want it locking :(

Change the neck??
Nah, it's weekend and that thought would never occur on a Sunday ;);)

Yep, did look at that but with everything pretty much fitted, it’s gonna be a bitch of a job I’m sure. I’ve had another look today and I’m kind of getting used to the larger locking plastic cap I’ve got fitted...I think the Optimill one would look a bit lost tbh. And as Lynall pointed out, it’s more attractive to the scumbags out there too.

So purchased a pair of Optimill black wingmirror brackets with lights and, after fitting the wing mirrors flap in and move around due to wind resistance. The guys on the stand at LRO promised if I had ANY issues they would resolve them (as I was complaining about the excessive cost). Contact them re the issue and the initial response is for me to send them back for repair. First off I don't think they realise that of the is a fault with their product within one moth of purchase they are legally obliged to replace with new and also that they should arrange for collection and replacement. I will be without a vehicle if I have to send them back and await new replacement. So far Optimill are not covering themselves in glory!

Why you've revived a 3 year old thread that was originally about a fuel cap to go on about your wing mirrors is beyond me. Just tighten them up

Thought it beneficial to let people know about optimill? Since this is one of the first threads to come up on a search for them it surely has to be the best place to inform people of customer service issues if there are any?

My Optimill fuel cap has been fine, it came with my missus's 90 and l swapped it for my plastic one when we sold it.

Oh and so as you know the mirror arms cannot be tightened by the user as a specialist tool is required :-/
