I have a 1996 300tdi, have replaced all from boot to centre door pillar, every switch and component works, sun rooves do not leak, has a ver good drive train but it is missing a radio/cd playe,r which would operate off original Discovery switches on the dash, which operated the cassette/radio originaly supplied with the car when new.
Have searched for a compatible unit with no luck. Hoping someone on this forum may be able to help.

Philips head unit and CD multiplayer is required but don't bother and install a modern headunit. The dash controls never do what they are suppose to, ie. press increase volume and it decreases, etc etc and they are hidden by the steering wheel, it was early days for that technology using resistance.
Maybe you need the dash controls if you can't reach the head unit in the dash, other than that they are waste of space.

There's a head unit on ebay http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Landrover...573860?hash=item33b48e8fa4:g:1k4AAOSwFnFV77w~
