P38A Access to aircon compressor

At idle, with aircon on full blast, my compressor seems to cut in about 50/50 duty cycle. I suspect if you run it constantly everything will just freeze up and as wammers said, it's very likely to do serious damage.
You need to find out why it's not being called in by the ECU. Are the pressure switches actually working?

Thanks for this, I wasn't aware that the compressor didn't run permanently. We're not all aircon engineers so we live and learn. I will start to look at the switches one by one from here on, I don't have a diagnostic, so will go through them all one by one.

Years ago my Rover Sterling had a compressor running full time fault. As it got colder the vents started spouting vapour clouds filling interior with fog. Luckily I sorted it before condenser or anything else failed.
