On my 90 TD, when I press the accelerator from it being off, there's a clunk, unless it's done incredibly gradually.

For me, this is normal, as it's done this since, well... forever, but is it actually normal, or is there something wrong?

From the pedal itself or somewhere in the motor? If it's clunking when you apply the power abrubtly sounds like something is loose or worn somewhere. Could be something like a worn engine mount, transmission problem, something wrong with one of your props?

If it's a single clunk I'd look at Engine/gearbox mounts first, then Suspension bushes, A-Frame (Does 90 have an A-Frame like a Disco?) etc
