Hi Folks.
I'm new to this forum so hello everybody:)
I've recently bought a Freelander TD4, and I love it, but one small thing is bugging me, so maybe you can help.
There seems to be a flat spot in early acceleration, most noticable in first gear, then it picks up and goes great. It's rather annoying, and any light shed on it would be much appreciated.
Cheers.
Andy.

Hi there, mine did this last week on a run once the car was warm.
Kind of Hesitated when setting off.
have since fitted roverrons Synergy 2 and it hasn't done it since, he put it down to possible MAF degredation as I am now running the MAF compensator on the Synergy in LOW mode and it seems to be running fine, also the Extra power and torque that the Synergy 2 produces is nice too..
Definitely better than shelling out £200 for a new MAF..

Its called turbo lag. The turbo doesnt kick in until around 1800 revs. You should hear a wistle from the engine just as it kicks in. Thats when you get more power.

Don't think it's turbo lag, got to agree with djewson that it's probably MAF related. Try unplugging it & the engine wil run using ecu default values. If it improves things then you know you've got MAF issues.

I seem to be having the same symtoms, however, the engine management like flickers occasionaly, do you think it could be the same issue ?

This could be an indication of a fuel pump problem, may be worth taking to the stealers and get a computer check done. Any codes shown will give you a idea what is going on.

Hi folks.
Thanks for that. I think it's the maf sensor, as the turbo seems to kick in on cue but it's below that where the dead spot is.
Cheers.
