Hi all,

I looked at a lot of threads, could not find the right answer to my question.

After I collected my TD5 Defender (110 SW MY 2000) in Namibia (I had shipped it from Europe), the ABS and TC warning lights on the dashboard began flashing intermittently (sometimes every 2 km, sometimes nothing for 50 k).

I tested the system with Nanocom Evo, who told me (more or less, in the meantime the Nano broke down and was repaired for free by BBS); "intermittent lack of power supply to the ABS pump".

What I suspect (the Landy is currently 10.000 km from here, and I would like to prepare some repairs):

1. Wrong ECU earth (before the Nano gave up, it returned me an error message for the PIN 7 self test - in addition, I saw that the engine temperature indicator on the dashboard moves slightly - 1 mm - to the right when I switch on anything - lights, ventilator, wipers - even if the engine is not running), maybe i.A. due to two months in a container at sea. I prepare a 5 mm² cable to bridge ECU earth point / battery negative.

2. Worn ABS pump relay (take a new one to Africa in July).

I have been driving 6.000 km without any problem since this happened, but I would like to fix it now.

Could anybody help me ?

Thanks in advance

hello all- i had intermittantly flickering abs/ handbrake lights/ tc/ coupled with a lowered temp reading. after much messing with relays and jump wires to chassis point in underseat fuse compartment realised my movements in the seat made a difference..self-tapper in seat back contacting bare point in cabin divider solved problems. cured by copper strap linking box side of cabin floor to rear cabin floor, across the joint, to give negative (chassis) continuity. careful! earthing from the wrong point in rear cabin can make things worse. end result no flickers at all. may have cured symptom rather than problem but tried several other ways before.
