hi guys new here.

my parnters dad has got an x reg td4 landrover and it has got an abs fault.

Plugged it in to diags and thats telling me its a front left abs sensor which needs replacing.

My dilemma is that all the usual places i get parts from (gsf, bullseye etc) all want about £180 for 1 abs sensor!

On ebay i have found some brand new for about £40 delivered.

now the question is, why are they so cheap? Are they not a direct fit? Or is it just they are likley to fail sooner?

Cool thanks.

Is it best to drill out the sensor or to take the hub off and tap it out from the inside?

Also, is there a marker of how far to push the new one in?

There's a magnet in there and I chewed four or five Heller drill bits up.

When I have to do the other side I'll take the half shaft out 'cos I melted the swivel/cv gaiter heating it up

There is a liner that pushes into the hoising and the sensor fits into that.

The elevtric couplers can be a faf to route through the inner wing.
