Hi guys
Not sure what the f#@ks wrong with it this time
Firstly its a 96 p38 4.6
When i first start on a morning the 3 dash brake lights stay on for about 20seconds. During thiis time i can hear the pump running and every time i touch the brake pedle after the pump comes in for a second or so
Now i read on another thread its the brake accoumilator so ive put a new one on (well from a working spairs dog) and its still no better
Now before you all start screaming blead it and air locks read this next bit
When i switch the car off i can hear and feel the pump clicking like its trying to run but its not i even disconected the battery to conferm this
Ive also notised the fluid level rises quite alot when switched off and drops again when turned on what i think is happening is the pressurised fluids pushing the pump backwards
Is there a one way valve anywere in the system that should be stoping the fluid draining back into the reservoir

Confermed that the fluid is seaping back into the resevoir cos put a hose clamp on the pipe between the pump and the resevoir and turned it off and it remaind silent with no change in level
So anyone know how the pump stops the pressure seaping out?

Fluid will seep back and be above MAX mark when car is stood. That is why you only check level with ignition on and system pressurised.

Ahh ok
it still makes a funny noise after been shut off also the 3 brake lights on the dash still stay on and the pump runs for about 20 seconds after starting havent noticed the soft pedle since i changed it though

No all 3 are staying on no matter how fast i go! i had it up to 35mph earlyer also it seams its not just first start anymore its almost every time i start it if its been stood abit

Well if you have read the instructions in RAVE, it says under no circumstances should the vehicle be driven until the red brake warning lamp goes out. It maybe that there is no fluid pressure or more likely a fault in the pressure switch.

It seems its loosing pressure back into the resevoir through the pump as i can heer it pushing the pump around
Is it supossed to have a pressure valve to hold the pressure in the acumilator? If so were is it and whats it look like?
