Hello again,

so today i fitted the new accumulator to my Rangey.

With the old one my ABS pump would run constantly and when i braked the ABS, TC & (i) lights would come on.

Now that i've fitted it the pump is still running constantly but the lights do not come on when i brake.

When removing the old one i lost some brake fluid, well it kinda spewed out everywhere. Will the pump go off if the brakes are bled?

I followed the procedure shown on rangerover.net to do the job.

Also where is the pressure switch located?

The relay you're talking about, could that be the pressure switch that rangerovers.net are talking about do you think?

Don't think so, I think the pressure switch operates the relay. Look in the fuse box, there should be a black relay for the ABS/Pump, pull it out and the pump should stop. Check the relay it may be stuck on, I have seen this suggested in other threads. Or you can look it up in RAVE. Otherwise it could be the pressure switch, or fluid loss, or a knackered pump. Someone like Irishrover would know a lot more about it than I do.:D

I just wish it would work! Nearly lost my knuckles getting the old accumulator off and now it still dont fix the constant ABS pump. Does anyone know where the pressure switch is located and is it an easy repair/replace?

I recommend the P38 manual from here. I found it easier to use than Rave.

From what you've described though I'd try bleeding the system again.

thanks for the link. Yeah i've been trying to use the rave cd but i find it tedious to use. I'll give this a check out tomorrow!

Cheers Rasheed

no problem! just of of curiosity, how did you determine the accumulator was gone and if you don't mind, where'd you get the new one and how much?

Well a coulpe of the guys on here suggested it and a landrover engineer advised trying this before getting a new ABS pump. I got it off allwheel 4*4 i thnk was £89 inc vat and delivery.

nah my pump is still running constantly. Going into the garage on monday. I think it's the pressure switch on the pump. But it isn't sold seperately so i'm looking for a 2nd hand pump now.

So last night the ABS, TC & i lights all came back and the brakes had gone, needed a double pump to get any real stopping power. Does anyone know where i can get my hands on a good used or refurbed abs pump?

Is the ABS relay a switch relay?

Please help me as i need my car for work and dont want to drive without brakes!
