Anybody know if the Pressure Switch on the ABS pump can be purchased separately and if so where ?
Did any other car manufacturer use it ?

There are places that rebuild the pumps in the states at least, so they must be available. Used on some Jags i believe.

Strange, surely it is merely an on/off signal.I presume you mean the ABS light.
Have you read and reset the ABS fault codes?

It's a bit more than an on/off. It trips at 110bar and cuts out at 180 bar : it looks as if there might be something akin to a relay inside the pressure switch itself.
If I can even get a duff switch at least I'll be able to play with it and find out how it works.
The pump is fine and I can fire the pump with a switch which I've rigged manually. That puts the lights out and the pump itself operates fine when I fire it manually. That's what's made me conclude that I've got a duff switch.

it was approx 1989 xj40 jag and as i say worked fine just wouldnt put the abs light out if you have any joy getting the light out could you let us know as could save people a good bit as i got the switch for £10 from the jag thanks
