hi there i have just bought a freelander on a V reg :) Everything seems ok however when i turn the ignition on the ABS light should come on for a few seconds then go out how ever it does not come on at all.So is there any suggestions to what could be wrong? i can see the ABS sign on the dash if i look closely and the fuse is ok thats about all i got round to checking at the moment.

on all cars fitted with abs, light should come on with ignition, then go out. If light fails to come on, or stays on all the time, it's an mot fail. Sounds like the bulb might be blown (cheapest option).

Checked the bulb today seems ok even swapped them round to see if it would make a difference but still no joy.Looks like it will have to go on the machine tomorrow

just drive the freelander down the road doing 25 mph and lock the brakes to see if the ABS will kick in or not?

After a good luck under the bonnet for the first time i realised it does not have a abs pump so therefore does not have abs so the abs light on the dash and the fuses must be there to confuse you  I assumed that all freelanders had abs but im a newbie so dont really know to much about them. Ohwell looking on the brightside its one less problem to look forward to:)
