Hi all,
I have RRC '92 with ABS. The high pressure hose from the pump to the accumulator is toast and needs to be replaced. I have a replacement but need some advice on the replacement process?

I know that I need to depressurise the system and have the details. What I'd like to know is that once I've done this and remove the hose - how much hassle am I going to have to repressurise the system and are there any tips that I might need to know?

Thanks for nay help!

Not a job I've done but I have replaced the ABS valve block and replaced all my brake pipes. The hose you are talking about, is, I assume, the braided hose from the pump to the accumulator. That being the case I would say once the system is depressurised you should be able to undo the hose, fit the replacement then bleed the system through.

The only thing you need to be sure of is that you don't damage the accumulator as it is pressurised with Nitrogen at 80bar. So do double check manual/Rave and make sure you are not going to be releasing any of that pressure.

Bleeding the ABS system is a total pain in the backside, it will take a bit of time. Get yourself a pressure bleeder it makes it easier. You'll need at least 5 litres of Dot 4 brake fluid if my experiences are anything to go by. Do follow the bleeding procedure exactly.

Good luck.
