Squeak sounds like the turbo to me ie normal

I thought that too, The video makes it much more noticeable than it actually is.

Just thought I'd pop in to catch up! :)
AND I LOVE IT! :D we need a road test video I think ;)

I know I've said it before but absolutely amazing work mate! I now want a 6bt in my disco :eek::D

Keep it coming. :)

Cheers Rob :)
Their wont be a road test video for a while, But will try and get one when I can ;)

6bt in a disco, Now that'd be nice, It's been done in a 90 and 110 oh and a 140, Plus in a range rover classic.
Not been done in a disco before as far as I'm aware, Go on, You know you want too :D

That looks and sounds awesome. :D

You're a talented lad, well done son. Brilliant :clap2:

Thankyou :)
Nice to know others think I've done a decent job of it :)
Lost interest of late, But now the starting, Running and charging is sorted it's made me much happier.

Cheers Rob :)

Looking forward to the video no matter how long it takes ;) now subscribed so I don't miss updates

Please don't tempt me even more! :p I'm easily persuaded as it is

I'll tell you what, if I manage to kill the 300tdi currently sat in it I will convert to a 6bt..... :D

Cracking job on this Mate
I would not know where to start

Cheers mate :)
Just a big tdi in reality :D
Nothing overly hard. More just thinking about the best way to do stuff.

It'll be next year at this rate :(
Although I really hope not. Just need some constant work and I'm off :D

Go on, You know you want to :D
A fair few people are doing them now and the hardest part. The adapter plate and shaft are now available (same bloke who did mine)
Not overly expensive either ;)

That's some lump. Sounds great. Do you sell your projects on?

Yes, It is some lump :D
I just love the sound of it

I don't build stuff with the intentions to sell, But I generally get bored and want a change so then they go.
The last one was sold before I even put it on the road as I was out of work and couldn't afford too put it back on the road.
I neigh on got my money back so I just put up with it and at least it was only my time lost.
Whereas this one I have put more time, effort and money than any other and I'm not sure I'd get anywhere near the money invested back.
Plus I do actually feel more attached to this lr than the others.

Mod's can be never ending and now it's on a galv chassis I've got the perfect base and can just change to suit my needs or if I get bored.
But, Everything is for sale at the right money. A comment I always have and will stand by.

Forgot to update this, But although I haven't actually done anything (Been prepping brothers 90 for paint) I think I've sorted the gearing.
As some of you may know I originally wanted to fit a 1.003 transfer box.
But seeing as the input gears are different it's not just a straight swap and would mean having my adapter up again.
So I had to think of another way.

Big tyres where considered, But decided against it for now as I couldn't find what I wanted and the reality is it doesn't give that much of an improvement anyway.

So someone mentioned 2.83 diffs (Kam make them)
I had a look on their website and they're about £500 so that idea was left for a while as I just don't have that kind of money.
Not long after I found a pair of cw&pinions for less money but still new.
Now I ummed and ahhed for 2-3 weeks about these.
Do I have the money. Do I really want to go down this route (was concerned about affecting the low range)
Anyway I finally decided to bite the bullet, Scraped the money together and have bought them.
I got talking to the bloke and he said that Kam don't actually make them anymore even though they list them on their website.
Which kind of makes sense as Defender110 on here has sent them an enquiry about them and haven't got back.
My only concern now is if I brake one I'm f*cked as I'll not be able to get a replacement :(

They wont be going in anytime soon as I'll be changing all the bearings etc.. and building them into another set of diffs. (keep the others just in case I ever want to change back)
I did a few gear ratio charts and 2.83 diffs puts me in roughly the same place as a 1.003 transfer box would. So I'm happy with that :)
But it the low range is altered slightly.
Although good road manors are slightly more important seeing as it will be a daily driver (when the bloody thing is on the road)

I'm rather high at 2800 max rpm but it doesn't really matter for the table as can be seen by the other rpm's

As I am now, 1.2 transfer box, 3.54 diffs.

1.2 transfer box and 2.83 diffs.
Brings the rpm down from about 2500 to 2000 at 70mph

And then what I would have if I had 1.003 transfer box and 3.54 diffs.
(the original plan)

Hopefully it all works out as I think :)

So for those who are interested and that nosy bugger Robbie :p
This is what I've received.
KAM 2.83 ratio crown wheels and pinions and a pegged diff casing :D
2.83's will help the gearing massively and pegged casing for the rear for a bit of piece of mind. (Couldn't afford two)
As if I did break one, They're no longer available so would be pretty screwed.
To be honest I probably wouldn't break one but really don't want to risk it. And torque kills things :p

They wont be getting built up for a while as I'll need all new bearings etc. and they're not cheap.
I had to scrape the money together for these alone and only did so as it'd be hard to find another set if they sold.
Also need to source a pair of diffs to build them up into (If anyone has any for reasonable money :p ) That way I can keep the standard 3.54's in case I ever need to change back.

Pegged casing. I'd love to have a go at doing one myself, But I just don't have the tools to do it :(
