A quick one

I'm trying to help a member out here, so my q is...

i have a 2.5 tdi (97 P38) he has a gas guzzler 98 (i think 4.6?) he thinks he has a problem with his ecu, and its affecting the cruse control, so i have agreed to him swapping the ecu over to his and see if his cc will work with my ecu, are there ANY issues doing this, and on putting my ecu back is it just a simple case of putting in back in (plug and play so to speak?) or will i have trouble, i don't want to do it if i will get any issues over this, i don't mind doing anyone a favour, but these things can cost you, if they go wrong!!

Thats why i ask, i don't think they are, but i could be wrong!! hes coming around 2 morrow, so i wanted to know before them (save him a trip, if its not right)

The cruise system on a petrol P38 is different from a diesel one, nothing is interchangeable between them, except maybe the cruise button and steering wheel switches. So you can save him the trip.

What specific problems is he having??
