A Newbie to the Discovery World!

Hello Peeps,

I am Sarb and I am proud to say that i am a Discovery Owner if not today, by tomorrow I hope. I am from Oxford (Weston-On-The-Green). I just had a car given to me (it is a long story ) which i think looks like a Discovery 1 but i still have no idea what model it is, but i was told that it is a Diesel, so my guesses are it might be a 2.5 TDi but how can i tell if it is the 200 or 300? I am joining this site, mainly to meet more Discovery blokes and to maintain my Discovery myself with the help of you guys trough the net. I am sure that this is an expensive machine to run, but if utter most care is given to this type of machine, maintaining it will be cheaper. And i am one person who is very particular about what is going on around/in my machine.

Im a fairly new member myself and also have a discovery which is a 94 200tdi and may i just say what a top motor it is i love it..... A mate of mine who lives in upper heyford has a 93 disco which he has owned for the last 10 years. So if you need to know anything just drop a line and we'll see if we can help...

yes he quite right being an arse is ok!
only today paulb's mum was saying how well he's doing considering he doesn't have any legs, arms or torso. she thought that with paul being an arse he might find it difficult with no head and therefore no place to keep his brain, but she assures me he's really happy with his existence. infact she took his brain off the self and showed me it and i was amazed to see it was still in the original package and unopened.
she told me its never been used and she doesn't think paul will be using it any time in the foreseeable future. she once tried selling it on ebay but no one bid on it, then when she seen mine she realised what a sorry excuse for a brain paulb's was. so she keeps it in the back kitchen wiff all the other old useless tat.

OK theyre called Disco's, first time i have ever heard that. You call them Disco's on this site or is that Land Rover owners through out call them Discos?

disco is a well known abbreviation fur Discoveries.

rr for Range Rover
P38 fur a ...P38?
hippo or freebie fur freelander
Hippoo for a crap freelander (most)
s1 s2 or s3 for a series
Dibnah for ******** (fill in spaces)
