A little wiring assistance required

Well it turns out that i was indeed missing a section of loom as i found the wires i needed running into a plug, luckily i had a spare loom down the shed so i removed the section i needed, plugged it in wired up the gauges.

2 strange things happened, the fuel gauge did nothing and the temp gauge shot up to max. and remained there even after removing the wires.

Temp gauge is probably broken, fuel may be wired wrongly at the sender unit, may be a bad earth at sender or you might be out of fuel.

Definitely has fuel, i have tried swapping the wires round at the sender and still no luck.
Could be a broken sender or gauge i guess.

Did you have the gauge wires on the wrong gauges? ie full tank reads full and cold engine dosent move guage

im pretty sure the wires were the correct way around, going to do a bit more investigating after work tomorrow
