can anyone help me understand how high my 110 is compared to standard?

I want to raise it 50mm...but I’m sure it’s a little higher than standard, and I don’t want to buy a 2” lift for it to be 10mm higher than it is now...(if you know what I mean?)

Obviously wheel and tyre combinations change the overall height, so it’s not like I can measure the bumper from the ground etc:confused:

Any advice

Measue to the ctr line of the wheels, and measure floor to a reference point on the tub and top of wing, then ask someon who has a similar 110DC to measure theirs, as they should know what they have doen to theirs as a starting pint.

Cheers

Thanks Neilly, makes sense

I’ve measured it...from the centre of the wheel up to the wheel arch is 555mm, front and rear are (surprisingly) exactly the same!

Any other double cab owners out there who could measure there’s for me???o_O

Front Wheel centre to bottom of edge of arch eyebrow about 470mm

Floor to top of front wing about 1100mm

Floor to top of rear tub about 1300mm

Floor to underside of sill about 550mm

Edit
235/85/r16 and recent new shocks all round
No weight in it

So from wheel centre to top of front wing or bottom of wheel arch?
Bottom of the wheel arch

This pic is a bit deceiving cos of the angle of the camera, but from where the end of the tape touches the bottom of the arch to the centre of the centre cap...mine is 555mm

Have the current springs got any markings on them? Usually coloured stripes. It’s not unusual for them to disappear over time, but your Landy looks in good nick.
Can’t see any, although the rears look like they have smaller springs inside the main ones?

They’re helper springs from a Defender 130. Previous owner must have had them fitted, not necessary unless you’re carrying pallets of bricks about on a regular basis! That setup means your 110 DCPU is probably sitting higher than standard and the ride may also be stiffer. A 2” lift may give you a little more height still, but it may be at the expense of some road-handling ‘qualities’ that your current set up has.

Thanks for that.... it’s an ex Environment Agency vehicle, so guess it would have carried a bit of weight in its previous life! (It does corner rather well for a defender )

Ah right, that would explain the heavyweight springs!
If you’re intent on the Tomb Raider/ Spectre look ( I guess you are! ), than the lift kit may get you that bit closer, although you won’t be 2” higher than you are now, you won’t really know if you like it until you do it I suppose.

Might try some of those spacers to see if I like the height before spending loads on a lift kit:confused:
