I popped into the thread about the L322 non start and asked but decided it would be more appropriate as a new thread.

I recently (last week) swapped the seats from grey to beige (I like them a lot :)).

They are the fully loaded kind, 3 motors in the base and I think two in the back for tilt & headrest adjust.

Everything worked as soon as it was plugged in, even the mirrors dipped (which was soon disabled, hateful idea o_O) but the seat elements we broken (separate thread on how I repaired them) so I dealt with the drivers seat first (obviously :p).

Anyway, since this my key fob has started playing up.

Coincidence? Perhaps, but my drivers door puddle light has gone out as has my ign barrel light, strange coincidence, but coincidence nonetheless... or is it?

I didn't see a bare wire in the seat loom and it blew the fuse for the seats (11 perhaps? Under the seat, a green 30 amp chap anyway).

So those are the circumstances around this strange issue and that issue is as follows...

If I unlock the car, start & drive off it's all good. 9 times out of 10 it'll lock when I press the fob button when I'm done.

But the strange part is if I unlock, fetch something then go to lock, even though the fob is flashing red, there is no response, not a click or anything. If I press "unlock" the solenoids click and then I can press "lock" and she locks immediately.

It's a worrying issue as I imagine being stuck somewhere with a non starting car (although I do have a syncmate thingy for the immob from Black Box Solutions, we picked it up when we were in Cyprus last year.

The Key Fob batteries are recent (last year) and were replaced by the local indie guy so decent make and properly installed (I couldn't get the key apart so went there where they have the right tools and experience).

So to reiterate, unlocked all is well, go to lock, key fob flashes but nothing from the car until I unlock and re-lock immediately!

I just wondered if this is a precursor to worse things or is the interior from a dead person and their ghost is trapped in the seats? o_O

:p:D

But it is worrysome

Fuse 11 under the seat is for transfer box neutral.
Sounds like a dodgy micro switch in the drivers door, however as you have blown a fuse and don't know which one, have you checked all the other fuses? Have you looked at RAVE to see which fuse feeds the puddle light and ignition light?
Just have to hope you have not damaged something.

I can't remember the number of the fuse, but I replaced it immediately.

I'm just wondering if it's related to be honest

Thanks for the reply though

I before I fitted the RF filter the other week I would often get the same result @Doo :-(
The fob/RF-Unit seemingly ignoring the required action Lock or Unlock, but happily accepting the opposite one from the one I wanted and then immediately accepting the one I need.
Perverse indeed.
I have a lot of RF interference here and since fitting the RF filter the occurrence of "fob-request-ignored" has dropped dramatically.
I can only suspect the signal was getting swamped/corrupted and the filter is doing a much better job only letting the right signals through to the BeCM.
