Hiya Guts

i just got off Ebay a A Frame/bar for my facelift Disco 2
part no:-STC 53179/80
I got FITTING INSTRUTIONS but they are somewhat vague
would anyone know a link where i can get more info and what brackets i can get too fit spot lights to the bar

Proper LR brackets for that bar to suit the genuine LR spotlights.

Possibly, but they are specifically designed for the LR lights.

If you have a search on the web, youll soon see there is loads of good spotlight brackets for tubular front bars.

was this the item you bought?
as i have got one but not come yet, the postman must be walking with it!!
 

In principal HID is the way to go, but it looks a bit odd when paired with the not so white halogen lights and both are on at the same time (something I've seen on some mercs twin head lamps) also you don't get an instant bright light with HID.

As for the lamps in the link who knows what the quality of the materials used is like, there's other HID lamps on the market at twice the price.

You won't need any specific backets as the lamps bolt through the metal plate within the A bar and for road use driving lamps are better than spots as they have a broarder beam.

i will be upgrading headlights with HID kit,so i dont think there will no diffarnce

as for my A Bar,it is not like yours,if you go to the first page of this thread,my a bar is the same as that one in the large photo

Have you put it on yet?
i have read the fitting instructions as you need to take the front bumper off, cut and refit. so have left it for the moment, so when i have a bit more time to waxoyl all around chassis while it's all off if you have fit any pics?
also how have you got on with the spots?
 
im waiting to finishing recoverying from my knee opp but once i have fitted the bar i will upload photos

yes i too was not a happy bunny when i found out that the bumber needs cutting

yeh! when i saw that i thought it was going to take a bit of more time and care,

i had these on my last discovery, going to buy another set to go on this one, never fitted the plastic guards thou, looked better without, a good light with 100w bulbs
