Its a rover 6cyl as used in rover cars and series 1 ton 109 , usually 2.6 or 3 litre . They were put in vertical not on a slant but the head face was slanted its IOE engine , the ex valve clearances were a PITA to maintain so they used to be left , result they got a name for burnt valves HTSH

Aye, my 2.6 straight six needs the dipstick tube removing before the exhaust rocker cover can be removed from under the exhaust manifold which is in the way when you try to measure the clearances. Ball ache.

Mate o'mine had a nice 86" series one with rover car 6cyl, it was smooth as silk and purred like a kitten. But really juicy! The car engines had a better ally 'Weslake' head fitted as far as I know, landy 6 pots having a longer version of a 4cyl head.
It does look neat in a series engine bay though, v8 crammed in there just don't look right, like your grandad on steroids.

2.6 litre straight 6 was a common injun in Series 3s over here.
