So I'm looking into buying just a standard land rover to go offroading, I'm going to put a winch on it as I already have one, will a standard 4x4 be good for off roading or will I be getting stuck constantly as it's not modified ?
Also ill only be insuring it for the times I want to go off roading so what are some good insurance companies that are cheap? Keeping in mind I'm only 20

Er, Yes, until you learn to drive off road properly. It's a skill which will be much more useful than a winch. The object of "fun day" off road driving is to enjoy it while managing to stay out of trouble. And as for "recovery" off road driving, well leave that to people like Ratty and co, who according to some would appear to know what they're doing.
 
Wow lots of info missing here. What are you looking at buying? A winch wont solve all yer problems.... but i do have a block for sale....never mind.:nospamhere: First thing what do you want to buy. Second where ya driving it?
 
Most land rovers were designed to go off road so will be pretty competent especially with some reasonable a/t's and a half decent driver.
