id wont matter what order yer connect the three cables it wont blow a fuse, it wont work thas all, when ther right yerl kno, why not just but a new sender, clean the tank up with some diesel on a rag or engine cleaner spray , then do the job right,

Going out to look for new wires.

I guess with those wires there me trailer socket won't be connected up:rolleyes:

Back again.

Reet, no other loose wires under there from what I can see apart from a yellow and white one.

ooh, thas a trailer cable, has been used for either trailer socket or rear indicators and lights, thats NOT what yer want to connect to yer sender, ignor the blanked off terminal fer the mo,
the wires are green , black and white, only thin and are wrapped together in tape , coming from the front of the vehicle ;)

So where are the other ends of these wires connected too so I can check they are actually there?

I bet the other end ud be connected to the Gauge.....otherwise it wun make no sense would it

Ah was told they went to the injun:confused::confused:

I've studied that wiring diagram and it just confuzzled the **** out of me. I've never understood. Think it's mebbey summat ter do with Autism.

If sumwum could give me very clear and basic step by step instructins (perhaps with some pics) on how to wire it up from scratch I would give it a go.

why would they go to the engine ?? thers a power feed to the sender, then it works as a switch, with the other two wires,
the ball floats up and follows a copper conductor, the position of the arm on the conductor is shown on the gauge ;)

Take the fuel sender out (see, the 3 little metal tabs, tap them around with a screwdriver until they match up with the gaps around and you can pull it out), and see how it behaves when you move the ball float up and down. Go from there :)
