my 97 DSE is due for its MOT next week, its started every now and again flashing up with ABS fault on the dashboard. sometimes it goes the whole day other times its after two minutes of driving???

I jacked it up and couldn't find any movement when I shook the wheels, so perhaps its not a wheel bearing, there doesn't seems to be any damage to the sensors either, although I have only checked the fronts. There is a significant whine now, that is quieter with speed, but is very noticeable when slowing down, it sounds like a train when it slows down???

any ideas???

also two of my wheel studs on the front have been damaged. it slipped off the jack and damaged the thread...:( luckily nobody was near it at the time... ive ordered two new studs, how easy are they to replace/how do I go about it?

regards

Matt

Check battery charge voltage with engine running....usually ABS and TC issues arise when the voltage level drops...

As for the studs, off with the hub and press out the old studs and press in the new ones there maybe more to it, but I am sure they are just a press fitment!

An abs sensor or wire to it or your acumitator is failing providing you have no leaks and the fluid isn't dropping you got to plug it in on this one, no good guessing unless your pump is running more than it should its either acumilator or a leak .
