Hi,
I've bought myself a land Rover 90 (1989) that has Hankook Dynamic MT tyres, size LT 245/75/R16.
If no idea the correct tyre pressure and wondered if you guys could give me some suggestions.

Also, when braking heavily it pulls strongly to the left and sometimes locks the rear left. Any suggestions on the cause would be greatly appreciated.

On a general point, I've had 2 series 3's and just got myself the 90 and it handles quite a bit differently. In that, the series 3's were pretty stable (althougly bloody bouncey!) and cornered nicely, whereas this 90 feels a bit wallowey, looser in corners, rolls (hard to explain!!), just not as planted.
Is this normal, or may I have a suspension/shock issue?
The 90 is certainly comfier (I'm getting old!).

Assuming you've already checked the tyre side wall/ Hankooks website and or googled tyre pressure charts

I'd say 35 at the front and 30 at the back

As for it pulling to the left I'd suspect either the brakes are binding on the left rear or the other sides not working or contaminated.

I would suggest you lift each wheel in turn to see if any are binding followed by looking at all yr pads/pistons/drums/discs delete as appropriate.

Yes it sounds to me like you may well have suspension issues. Hate to say it but...
How long have you had it ?
Did you not test drive it when you bought it?
Did you not take anyone with you who knew what to look for?

and lastly if you suspect suspension issues why not have a look, your a damn sight closer to it than any of us are..:(

Hahaha, obviously it reads pretty bad. I'm really asking if there is a big difference between a series 3 and defender in relation to handling.
To answer your questions:
  1. 3 weeks
  2. Yes I did test drive it but not at 55-60 round twisty roads so never felt it.
  3. Suspension looks perfect from the outside(underneath), no leaks, not leaning to one side. All as expected.

So you didn't check the suspension bushes then or the anti roll bar??
 
In theory it should be better.

Where abouts are you I'm sure someone on here will be close enough to have a look n show you what you need to be looking at/for.

(Assuming that it's too late to take it back to where you got it from?)

Okay doke, certainly seems there's an issue then.
I'm in the Scottish Borders near Biggar.
There's a Landy Garage pretty close, I'll run it up to them.
