Morning Forum
Its time that i change the air suspension units on my 2001 P38 2.5 diesel
there seems to be several manufactures about
from the Britpart replacements through to the OEM`s (dunlops)

I have reduced the choice down to the following manufacturers;

Dunlop
&
Arnott

has anyone out there any constructive feedback / experience on either of these replacements particularly the Arnott replacement
At the same time the shocks will be upgraded
Probable repolacement will be either

BIlsteins
or
Monroe`s

any feedback on choice would also be appreciated

Bearing in mind I have no experience with them, but the Arnott springs can't be worth twice the price can they? I don't really see how they can make that much difference to the ride either.

I'd go for the £250 set of 4 on eBay, from Island4x4 I think they are.

Shock absorbers I'd say the branded items would make a bit of difference, especially gas shocks over a set of worn stadard ones.

The OEM air bags from Dunlop are just fine for the job
If it comes down to money then it's a no-brainer - £250 for 4 as already stated
I have fitted six (2 x front on mine & full set on my brother in laws) with no problems to report
Both your choices of shock absorber will be a vast improvement over stock so I would say it would again be down to the best deal going

Hi there,
I bought and installed the Arnott Gen III airbags for my P38a. The main decider for me was getting the performance of the Gen III Rover in my P38a. If you don't care about the better performance gains (smoother/better highway handling and softer off road rebound with about 2 extra inches of bladder travel over stocks) then I wouldn't recommend spending the extra cash, however if that's what you're after and you're not afraid of changing the suspension on your truck yourself (save ton's on labor), IMHO it's the way to go!

If you're just looking to change the bladders, they also sell replacement bladders that you can use on your old bladder mounts. Check their website (if you haven't already) http://www.arnottindustries.com/ , they give some really good information that was helpful when I made up my mind. FYI, I've been running on the Arnott's for about a year and a half now, not a single problem, knock on wood!
