A.C.E Block!

Myself and a work colleague have both Discoverys 1999 and 2000 ,both have had failure on the swaged ends of the steel pipes going into the valve Block basically its a nother British engineering piece of poo ! Is there a mod for this ? As the pipes are fitted before the body is put on . There out to be a repair kit of six inchs of pipe with a fit for purpose swaged end . We crimp the short length with an in line hydraulic crimp .

They can be replaced by the home mechanic, but it's apparently a fiddle. The system uses high pressure, so you need to be careful. oeiginal LR pipes are very expensive.

I had this problem last year, and removed the ACE system completely. If you have coil springs (i.e. not airbags) you will find almost no reduction in drive quality. If you have airbag suspension then it'll lean a bit more in corners.

To remove the ACE, you need to replace the pump at the front of the engine with a jockey wheel. A good time to change the aux drive belt at the same time (the aux drive belt should be replaced at ~70k miles anyway).

Then, cut the piping off, and replace the front ant-roll bar with a silid (non-ACE) one.

You need to tell the ECU that the vehicle no longer has ACE and you're done.

I had my ACE removed by a local independant LR specialist, cost was £380 + VAT.

No more ACE woes, and very little reduction in drive quality.

If anyone is taking bits off i will buy them i want to fit ace to mine
