a bit of Noise help

Our 300tdi 110 has developed a noise.....& not one I’ve heard before lol

We've not changed or added anything, but when doing about 30-40, generally 3rd or 4th, it sounds similar to the following video, like a scraping/turning grinding noise. It doesn’t happen all the time, it just came on and then when I stopped the truck it stopped and was fine driving after. Then after a while it would do it again.
Any ideas?

Check your prop uj’s one of mine was shot and had a metallic grinding noise every now and again. The odd clunk too.

as above or wheel bearings if it only occurs when moving

Does sound propshaft related. UJ's

I get a similar noise to that from my series 3. Often wondered what it was. Usually I just wait for something to break or drop off.

Sounds a bit proppy to me.

An alternative to consider is the handbrake. Mine made a noise that was a bit squeakier than that under hard acceleration which was cured by new handbrake internals.

Sounds like an old tractor but noisier.
Noise sounds like a pile of backlash in the transmission, get the jack out and get under and start poking about.
