Hi All

Having just bought my first Freelander I thought i would first of all join this group with a big hello and secondly start asking the questions.

I bought a V plated 1.8 Petrol Freelander and apart from a couple of things she seems ok (Touches wood very quickly). I have a few issues that are bugging me, so here goes...

When in second gear going round a corner, there is what can only be described as an earth shattering rumble and shuddering, at first I thought it was the exhaust but on closer inspection both of the lower ball joints have gone so I'm hoping once I replace those it might cure the problem... ? Thoughts.

Secondly, on the bottom of the gear box there is a sensor that has snapped off, i have tried to find a replacement one but have no idea what its called and the haynes manual is useless :(

Lastly, the most serious in my opinion, I have a PAS bottle that curdles my fluid. Everytime i put new fluid in which is a ruby red colour it turns to like a milky pinky yoghurt. I must stress that this is only in the PAS bottle not the oil filler cap or water bottle.

Can anybody help.

thanks

AJP

1) make an appointment with your bank manager.
2) change ALL of the PAS fluid (sounds like watr contamination.
3) check VCU (see FAQ section) and post results in results thread.
4) check VCU bearings and that damper is intact.
5) check rear diff mounts.
6) check subframe attachments.
7) see Bank manager to arrange re mortgage.
8) ask yoself why you bought such a pile of ****.
