Thanks will check, I am sure I did put it on. I didn't know it was called that and guess the MAF was what I was thinking of. Will try and have a look in the morning but then might be busy for a couple of days....... Depends on the weather. Perhaps it has disconnected from the fuel filter?????

Thank you.

Make sure the MAP senor is connected. Also squeeze the turbo pipe intercooler to manifold as much as you can. Get someone to start and rev the engine, pipe should expand and become difficult to squeeze. If not look at turbo. Waste gate could be stuck open or it may have ingested something. If you ever run the engine with manifold off or turbo inlet uncovered you MUST ensure no loose material is present in engine bay.

Thanks Guys, so much. The suggestions have kept me going and I appear to have a working P38 (for a while)!!!!!!!!!!! :):):):):):)

Checked the turbo for problems and no blockages found and waste gate found to be closed.

At the inlet manifold check MAP was connected, tick and temp sensor, tick.

So took manifold off and changed the new no4 injector back to the serviced old one. Reassembled and started easily.

Didn't run great to start with so took it for a drive for an hour around Jersey and just seemed to to get better: The FIP had sat in my garage for a year at least????

So have been to the shops and just out for another quick spin starting easily and no engine warning light at all!!!!!!!!!!!

Very very pleased and thank you again.

Did have one change of pants moment when the out hose popped of the turbo when I first accelerated hard (hadn't done the jubilee clip up enough/ bit high on the connection!

Next job could well be to remove the hot start fix, headlinning and A pillars........ And just need to give her a decent run to the alps or Snowdonia or somewhere nice........... (Just need to save for the ferry ticket)

Thanks again you are bl**dy brilliant.
