Hi, only a small issue but the wiper arms now stop mid screen when you turn them off. They do the normal return when you turn them off but spring back up to the middle. Going to have a look this weekend but any advice to save me breaking thing further?
Cheers all.

You can remove the park switch from the wiper motor and give it a good clean up.
Take a note of where the wires go BEFORE you unplug them.
It comes apart if you're careful and you can clean the gunk out inside the switch.
Put it back together with some vaseline to keep the contacts clean. Dont use copper grease or you'll have a fire on your hands the first time you use the wipers.
Also clean up the operating cam and re-grease it while you have the switch off.
Mine had the same symptoms but since I cleaned the switch they've been perfect.
Total cost - nowt but half an hour of my time.

Can someone point me in the direction of where the motor/park switch is please?
It's bolted to the side of the wiper motor which lives under the dash below the windscreen on the passenger side.
You need to remove the plastic dash cover(s) to get at it.
Theres no need to remove the motor to get the switch off. There is a little plastic spring detent that needs depressing and the switch slides off the motor body. Remember how it goes back together and write down the wire connections as they are not part of a multi plug and can go back on the wrong contacts.
Just be careful when you take the switch apart so you dont lose any of the small bits. Clean them all up, smear with some vaseline, put it all back together. Job done. Put some grease on the operating cam when you fit the switch back to the motor.

Thanks for that...

I took the dash off. Found the motor. Cleaned the switches, put it all back together and now it won't do anything! I have checked all of the fuses and they are fine...

I definitely put the cables back on in the right order, as I took this picture before-hand:

Any ideas how I've managed to bugger up probably the most simple repair ever?

Thanks.

Could it be something to do with the bush (?) on the yellow cable being worn down?

The motor makes no noise or movement when turned on now. Think it might be shagged. Anyone got any ideas?

All I wanted tot o do was reset the 'off' position of the wipers....

Did you initially take the motor apart as well as the park switch?
If the motor was working before then it should have been no different after. When you cleaned the switch did you get it all back together properly? Using a test meter are you getting voltage on any of the connectors when you manually operate the switch?

It's possible that the worn brushes would cause problems but just cleaning the switch should not have affected them. I'm guessing that the brushes should be available separately but I have no idea where from.

I changed the whole motor for a new one, still doesn't work.

I tested the voltage at the motor and it's not getting any.... Checked the fuse which is fine and I also checked every other fuse just incase it's been re-wired incorrectly.

Still nothing. I used an old battery and connected it to the motor which works fine..... so for some reason I have no power at my motor :'(

And to top it all off, I took it to my local parts place to see if they could have a look at it and it bloody rained, so I pulled over and attempted to wipe the screen with the blade manually and the sodding thing snapped off at the shaft :mad:

Any easy way to get access to the offside wiper without taking the dash out?

I think you've probaably got a problem with the column switch or a broken wire / fuse that's why there is no power to the motor. But the park switch, as Shifty says is why they wont park.

Your best bet from here is to download the Rave workshop manual (on CD 2) which has a comprehensive electrical description, wiring diagrams and pin outs of each connector and switch. It's a very large file so will take half the night to come down, you then burn it to a CD and use it from there. It will also have the most effective way to replace a wheel box, which has the shaft in it that got broke. Here's where you get it.

The Green Oval - Downloads | Land Rover Data

Good luck.

Cheers, I downloaded rave and it looks like there is no other way to get to the o/s wiper than to take the instrument panel and dash out. What a ****ter.......
