Apologies if this has been done to death in the past.

I am thinking of buying a Defender 90 to ferry me to the station each morning. I have lost so much money in the past few years on cars that I want something reliable and as near to depreciation proof as possible. I have up to £12k to spend (although needs to be from a dealer who will p/ex). I seem to be in the Td5 1998-2000 territory. Some dealers (who do not have any cars in this age range!) have said I am better off going for a 300TDi or spending a bit more to get an 01 Td5. Any thoughts?

A few other questions:

1. What is the windscreen demisting like? Can you retro fit a heated windscreen?

2. Has anyone had dealings with Reid Land Rover in Horsham, 4x4xFox, The Man For Land Rover or RCV The Diesel Centre?

All thoughts gratefully received!

I've just bought a 01 TD5 90 from Cyril Groombridge in Heathfield. Have'nt got it yet, but I was looking round reids, and got the impression their prices were a little to high for what they were selling, but they seemed good people, who knew what they were doing. My advice, take your time, have a good look around, took me a month to find the right one for me.

Can't give advice on the TD5 yet, but it has more power and is more refined. yes they don't demist very well, but I think you can fit a heated windscreen.

Good Luck

kinell scott, you finally got rid of the old dog eh, why you wanna know if he's got a website, is that how you web designers drum up trade, find someone without a website then go in for the kill with the hard sell ;)

Hello Yella,

Nope dont want it to design / redisign it , just to see what he has got for sale as im looking for a decent 90 to buy.

Cheers for the number adseybear.

Just out of interest, where bouts in Farnham do you live. I swear I've seen that landy in the pic sometime.

It was a long drive (2hrs) down to his place, but well worth it, he didn't have many 90's when I was looking round, but I'd really recommend him.

Definateley go for a 300 Tdi try this company Liveridge British 4X4 Ltd

You can get a fully refurbished 90 or 110 from £7500 there you go I've already saved you £4500.

Heated screens are about £150 I expect liveridge will fit one before it leaves their shop if you wanted.

Good luck mate welcome to the land rover family where you'll have loads of friends and no money, only joking!
