I'm in a bit of a dilemma I've got a d reg 90 truck cab with a 200 tdi fitted , 3 inch lift an special track mud tyres ideal for a off roading the dilemma starts here the mrs likes the 90 but won't drive it an with a 9 month old little boy it's not practical really an after having my old other 90 stolen don't like leaving it anywhere so I'm thinking of maybe selling or trying to swop it for a td5 discovery. The 90 is just a toy and doesn't get used much we both have daily cars just seams a bit silly it siting there not getting used just wanted people's opinion

Best not try selling on here-read the rules 50 construtive posts to sell.

If you. Buy td5 disco make sure it has a chassis left and head/ Head Gasket isn't blown and no diesel in oil

No I know I can't try an sell on here crazy got to have so many post to sell stuff but then I don't make the rules.

I've Hurd all the horror stories with the td5. I've though bout converting the 90 to van back an maybe putting a td5 in it but not sure it's worth the hassle

Actually there are excellent reasons for that particular rule, one amongst not many ..

Why should the forum allow anyone come on without making any contribution and just sell their tat without a by your leave?

One, probably the main reason I like it, is that the forum don't 'know' you. Without a background of helpful or interesting posts or some (even minimal) posting history, the seller could be selling stolen goods, whatever and may not be entirely trustworthy. We know even long standing members might, but at least it's one way of trying to stop the theft of Landies and parts from ...

Ye I can understand for new members but I've been on here for a few years an just because I don't post or start threads I can't put a classified up to sell something or a wanted add. It's not like I've tried to sell it on here anyway all I was asking was people's opinion. me posting isn't going to give anyone an idea of what I'm like but I starting to get an idea of what the forum is like from the post I've read in the past may be that's a reason why I don't post . Anyone trying to sell stolen stuff could easily join post on random genuine threads to get access to sell stuff so it not exactly fool proof an I've been messed around by several members in the past either who iv purchased from or tried to so no one is perfect. my 90 is far from immaculate but it's know where near tat an as I was looking to get a disco to go with the range rover l322 iv got it's not like I'm leaving the LR seen Oh an having had a 90 stolen 18 months ago I'm well aware of the pain it causes having one taken an the way parts are distributed to unsuspecting owners.

14 posts in several years isn't regular

Like I said in my last post just because I don't post or start threads doesn't mean I don't use the forum an read on projects an builds an problems people have. Most of the time the solution has already Ben sorted by the time I see it. May be there should be a count on how many times someone logs in instead of posting

Taking a 9 month old in a Defender is not going to help the child's hearing (seriously). I have a relative that carried his child in the back of a suberu (is that how it's spelt?), the child ended up with damaged ear drums as a result of the exhaust note. I have a Disco TD5 and it's most definitely quiet, not very exciting but quiet. My plan is to get a Defender since it's only me and the mrs now, and were both deaf anyway probably due to a noisy series 3. You need to consider the health of your child ;)

Cheers guys ye I understand with the little one bonus is it's only my toy an he's been in it once since born an that was a short trip. Didn't know weather it was a gd or bad idea as I want something the mrs could used come winter as I got the range that she won't drive cause it auto might make since to make the change an then could all go an a bit off reading in the future
