I'm pretty sure my fuel pump has died, and am too lazy to drop the tank out... Shifty has a good post for cutting a hole in the rear floor, but I don't have a nibbler, and dont want to risk cutting the tank/cables/pipes with my grinder...

Is it just a matter of drilling/grinding off the rivets and the floor panel comes loose...is there some form of bonding/silicone to prise loose as well?

Previous symptoms:

Noise from the fuel pump... for first 10 minutes of journey... serviced... all quiet... parked up for a week, and then the pump went berserk - had to turn up the radio and cover the rear floor with a dog bed to keep myself sane - still drove fine.

Felt like I had lost a cylinder on the way home... serious vibration from the engine... lack of power... limped home... still idled OK but rough. Pump went ominously quiet.

Changed the fuel filter... but silence from the pump... turned key - no fuel at all...

Fuses OK... so ordered a cheap pump (£114).

Now how to get the bugger fitted!?

All help appreciated.
