Hi everyone
I have been asked to source a box trailer for our local scout group. Minimum 8x4 with a secure door on the rear. Max budget is £1100. I am in Hertfordshire but happy to travel for a decent one. would be interested in something if needs a bit of work as long as can afford the spares within the budget.

Many thanks in advance. Tom

Get yourself a horse trailer, i use mine as a box trailer.

12 x 6 massively tall, properly built to withstanding being abused and it was £400!

If you haven't sorted one I would give Chris @ CLH Trailers a call and let him know I sent you (if he can't place me then remind him about prices for my Range Rover's bash plates!).

We bought a number of years ago a small animal trailer (I think it was 6'x4') for about £800. Since then their reputation seems to have rocketed - people kept asking about the trailer and remarked on the quality of their builds.

I'm guessing it would be towards your budget limit but he's more than happy to tweak the designs for people so if you wanted any extras or slight changes he can easily accommodate. If you mention the scouts he could well give you a good deal.

They're a little far from you but if it goes ahead I'm back and forth to my parents (a few miles from them) reasonably often so could bring it back Hertfordshire way if you wanted?

A similar situation to yours where a neighbour of ours was picking up some hay in Cumbria and the farm had once seen a CLH Trailer in France (of all places) commented on it, couldn't remember enough to lookup the company but mentioned it to our neighbour. He said they were just down the road, subsequently a fully custom trailer was ordered over the phone and then the neighbour delivered it the next time he was up there.

I, too, can fully back this recommendation as I have bought a small trailer from them and it is great. Around here they are a very popular make of trailer and are frequently seen being a main choice of the farming community.

They have selling agents around the country and I have no connection with them whatsoever, except being a very satisfied customer:):)
