5E12 Can pedal fault

Hi, I have a landrover freelender TD04 that gives me constant trouble. I had to buy a hawkeye diagnostic tool because no universal interface worked.
Right now the abs control unit gives me this fault : 5E12 CAN Pedal Fault
Can anyone help me figuring out this code? What does it mean, how do I fix it ?

What's the symptoms?

From time to time abs, tc, hdc (yellow and green) lamps remain on and the car starts after long cranking. Sometimes the hdc green lamp stays off and the car starts fine. After erasing the error the car works fine for a while (randomly).

It sounds like a strange fault. CAN errors can manifest themselves in the ABS modulator or the Ipack.

Any ideas how to fix it?

I'd be tempted to replace the Ipack first, as that it the distribution point, linking all modules on the CAN together.
