Worked fine yesterday, got in this morning to start, turning over fine, just won't fire, could it be the cold or damp in ignition system?

if you got a code reader plug it in see if you have any fault codes. you looking for p1667 p1672, and where about are you may help..

I'm in Burnley, think may hava a way around it, my Dad's in The AA, so getting the 4th emergency service out, let you know how it goes, thanks guys, by the way, hope everyone's having a lovely christmas.

get him to do code read on it, and post the codes up. if you got the 2 codes that i have given you, you will need help aa will not be able to do it..j

Not sure if it's the same, but had the same symptom on my Disco2 V8, turned over fine, but wasn't even trying to fire... Turned out to be the crank sensor...

Update!!!! So the AA came out, couldn't sus it, couldn't read the codes coz his reader only works on vehicles 2001 onwards, "mine's 2001 Y plate", Ahem!! anyway, he thought it could be coil pack, does that sound possible? not getting any spark, but fuel is getting through fine, but now you say crank sensor, that's a strong possibility also,

Good job i've got my trusty 22 year olde 7 series to pull me out of it, but don't like using it in this weather.

update, been told it could have been immobilised by neighbors remote central heating or some other remote device, never knew these P38's were that tempermental.

Yep was discussin your predicament yesterday with J the Range ... Yer need a Re-Sync

& It'll be OK ...

got someone that might be able to do it tomorrow, failing that, J said he'll be over this way on 4th Jan, and he'll do it for me, top man, couldn't have happened at a worse time.

i could have come over anytime but was trying to save you money, as you would have to pay my costs[petrol]. if you need it doing fast i wish you would have said..

It's fine J, got the old Beemer to jump in if i need to, just don't like putting miles on it, especially in this weather.

ok no prob as i said if you not got it going by the 4th i will be in clone at joes, so can pop in and do it for you. make sure your bat is charged up to the top..j

Update!!! Got the sod going, as J the Range and Hooded Claw said, it needed a re sync, someones remote device knocked the codes out, rendering it immobilised, never thought they could be this vulnerable, never a dull moment with P38's,

Tell you one thing though, getting back in it after not driving it for a few days, made me realise what a good car it is, missed my car.
