Hi all
I have looked around the forum but cant find this specific problem.(or missed it)
My car has a disarmed central locking( which I like actually for simplicity) so key only operation. I was getting the occasional random lock, unlock scenario but was living with it.
All was fine until two days ago when it refused to central lock and I had to do all doors manually and had to leave the tail door unlocked. The next day the central locking worked again. I am not good at the dark arts of electricity, more a plug and play man but I do like to try. What is the problem likely to be or should I go to an auto electrician?
Many thanks
Simon

Sound like a drivers door lock problem with the micro switches for random lock/unlock scenario. Some have been able to replace the micro switches, @Datatek , probably your man. I found it easier to replace the door lock actuator

Most likely the centre microswitch on the driver door lock actuator or failing that the boot button might be acting up. If the rod for the door lock is bent or not free then that can sometimes cause issues too.

OK so does this mean that if I replace the drivers side actuator (probably best for a numpty like me) it should solve the general central locking problem ?

A brand new latch will solve the problem is as seems likely it's the micro switches. Marty's switch test would confirm if it's the switches. I believe that the MGTF latch assembly is the same as the P38 and half the price, others may confirm.
