Speed cameras, well I have a story about those.

Involves my parents slightly, a pub, a farmer, loads of bikers.

My dad was telling me about this, the main road near them has a camera a mile or so up the road, at night loads of bike really shifting.

They were looking for the too fast speed, they found it.

The pub next to it had a landlord obsessed with speed prosecution, hated speeding, even got a pretend camera to point at people, yes the pub shut down due to this, also a farmer removed the camera with a JCB

I HATE the things, too many dangerous cars now ignored.

As to running

Check oil in loom plug, and if no code reader ask on here and hope.

yes there also getting sneaky hear to
and the poliscan can do up to 45 degree angle this is very hard to detect and jam due to angles ..the camera is painted green also and hides in the scrub bushes...
or a cop using a lidar gun while hiding behind a tree /bush or busstop.. and they ping you for 5 KPH over = 3 mph over (and this is a good cop on a good day

the speed cameras uses a tolerance scale ..but some cops using the lidar gun is zero tolerance ie 1 kph over = 0.621371 MPH
ever since I got into this hobby I have leaned how a slip affect can result in a speed difference using my own lidar guns.
so if the cop was to pull the trigger aiming at the roof line of a car and then panned down to number plate ....the lidar gun can give a false reading as it thinks the object as just moved further forward in time .... as the pulse rate works over time over distance so basically they can add up to 8 kph on top of your original speed if they really wanted to

I must say the pub would of never shut down due to speed camera s ..as I I have seen pubs loose costumers due to the price of a pints and a 5 or 10 minute walk beers where cheaper up the road
trust me all my old ex girlfriends was bar maids LOL ( one of my hobbys ) and lock ins was very fun i never paid for my drinks period ..landlords also don't tell the truth and they blame the closest thing possible but many punters believe in him /she as he she is such a nice person then the word spreads

now I can understand there was a boose bus there every night not a speed camera

back to my issue

oil in the plug has been covered as i mentioned in brains post also this area never got touched

many people say don't worry about it but what has changed since owning the car from 2012 ... its actually driving really nice and I sure hope it stays this way compared to how it did for the past few years otherwise i would of never asked .... Tuesday it unlocks @ 60 kph Wednesday its unlocking @50 kph 2 weeks later its now unlocking 45 kph
i became custom to the td5... its now 2017 does it really take that long for the ecu to change maps LOL

there is to big of speed difference that appeared to happen over night ( like i say its been unlocking the same since 2012 so i can rule out climate change
i don't own any real diagnostic tool for the td5
I have a few scan tools that read engine ecu only ......each one works on my disco there are no faults and no faults pending .....but i cant use these to run sensor tests etc as there only a reader only

just a little sense of humour ..iam very scared to even lift my bonnet to check oil and coolant levels I might knock my settings back to 2012

Sounds like when you cleaned it you may have caused a learning reset, but to be honest I think it is a cooincedence, they do do strange things!

well its been 2 weeks since and still going well

I was thinking maybe water got in some where and made a better connection or I have disturbed a loose wire or plug

I will monitor it over the next few weeks but up to now she is working very well (touch wood )
