300TDI water pump leak.. i think

on my 94 disco 300 i have looked at the water pump and i can see a tiny bit of green fluid (coolant i think) that seems to of worked its way up from the gasket (yes up not down and out of the bottom but up) i dont seem to be losing any fluid so should i worry?

Just 'nip up' the fixing screws, if it's just a slight weepage of coolant past a gasket, it usually stops then.

You can tighten in up but just dont over tighten it.

Failing that its pump off and new gasket, not a hard job really.

Cost me £45 for a new pump after castrophic failure on the A180 going to Sheff.

Someone had done the tighten it up trick before and siezed the bolts in. Trying to get them out again I burst 2sockets and nion chiseled the head of one.

Better off just getting it pressure tested and fixed.

how would you know it was done up too tight if it was seized with rust, as a lot usually are. pinch of salt
